Details about Vitamin E
Vitamin E is essential to our bodies and is found in many foods, including olive oil, nuts, chicken, eggs, fruit, green leafy vegetables, whole grains, and meat. It is also taken in supplement form as alpha-tocopherol.
When consumed in amounts below the upper tolerable limits, vitamin E is generally considered to be safe. However, taking too much vitamin E, especially in supplement form, may not be wise.
The tolerable upper amounts that are recommended based on age:
Children 1-3 years: 300 IU/day (200 mg)
Children ages 4-8: 450 IU/day (300 mg)
Children ages 9-13: 900 IU/day (600 mg)
Adolescents ages 14-18: 1,200 IU/day (800 mg)
Adults (including pregnant and breastfeeding women): 1,500 IU/day (1,000 mg)
Here are the contraindications and side effects of vitamin E:
Stomach Effects
Although rare, some people may experience digestive compaints including nausea, diarrhea, and stomach pain.
Head Effects
Dizziness, fatigue, headache, and blurry vision have all been reported.
Rash
Rash has been reported when taking vitamin E supplements, but it is more common when using vitamin E topically.
Pregnancy
Taking more than the upper recommended limit during pregnancy has been linked with a risk of heart defects in the fetus. High amount of vitamins E and Ctaken together during pregnancy could potentially heighten the risk of high blood pressure (gestational hypertension.)
Stroke Risk
Research has found that vitamin E may slightly raise the risk of hemorrhagic stroke, which is characterized by bleeding in the brain. On the other hand, vitamin E seems to prevent ischemic stroke, which is caused by obstruction to a blood vessel that supplies blood to the brain.
Increased Risk of Death
While there is little chance of a sudden overdose on vitamin E, some controversial studies have found that taking large amounts of it over the longterm is associated with a slight increase in the risk of death from all causes. More studies need to be done to confirm this, but to be safe just make sure not to go above the upper limits recommended.
Smokers
One study found that vitamin E may increase the risk of tuberculosis in men who smoke and also take high doses of vitamin E.
Bleeding
Some people have reported nosebleed or excess bleeding while supplementingwith vitamin A. There is a concern that people taking blood thinners such as heparin, warfarin, aspirin, and NSAIDs may have an increase in bleeding. People with vitamin K deficiency or who have bleeding disorders should not take vitamin E supplements without medical supervision.

The main causes of liver damage
1. Sleeping too late and waking up too late are main cause.
2. Not urinating in the morning.
3 .Too much eating.
4. Skipping breakfast.
5. Consuming too much medication.
6. Consuming too much preservatives, additives, food coloring, and artificial sweetener.
7. Consuming unhealthy cooking oil. - As much as possible reduce cooking oil use when frying, which includes even the best cooking oils like olive oil. Do not consume fried foods when you are tired, except if the body is very fit.
8. Consuming raw (overly done) foods also add to the burden of liver. - Veggies should be eaten raw or cooked 3-5 parts. Fried veggies should be finished in one sitting, do not store.
We should prevent this without necessarily spending more. We just have to adopt a good daily lifestyle and eating habits.

Benifits of HONEY
Honey
flavor to your tea-- it's nature's very own elixir for a much
healthier life-- one that you and I undoubtedly do not have. So, the
next time you decide to swat a bee, take some time to appreciate the
little stinger and all its hard work.
1. Honey can make you younger! Or at least look it.
Honey contains antioxidants, which basically reverse aging by
neutralizing the free radicals our body releases during oxidation.
If that's too complicated, think of it this way: free radicals can
damage our body, but honey and its antioxidants clean up all these
icky radicals, and heal the body in so many ways. The darker the
honey, the more antioxidants it contains.
2. Honey can make you sexy.
Honey goes down easily, and for people with digestive problems, this
is one medicine you definitely won't mind having a spoonfull of!
Although it contains more calories than table sugar, it eases the
digestive system by breaking down energy calories faster-- so, you
get twice the amount of energy, and twice the amount of power to
burn it all out! Diarrhea and stomach flu are common ailments, and
honey's antibacterial and moisture-retaining properties help flush
out all the bad stuff that's been plaguing you.
3. Honey makes your immune system mighty.
Honey is a natural energizer, and aside from providing energy when
you need it most, it also helps strengthen the immune system by
shielding it against bacteria that can cause colds and flu. Cough
and sore throats can also be easily cured with some warm honey and
lemon, because its antimicrobial properties kill the germs breeding
in your mouth while soothing the irritated area at the same time.
4. Honey is nature's band aid.
Honey is a natural antiseptic. Apply a little warm honey on a cut,
wound, or burn and the antimicrobial agents in it will prevent
infections and promote skin growth. Bacteria doesn't survive in
honey, so you'll be far away from gangrene if you've got a little
pot of the sweet stuff lying around!
5. Honey makes your skin glow and your hair shine.
Honey has the incredible ability of trapping in moisture, one thing
we definitely need if dull hair and skin are a problem! Asides from
healing the body from the inside, the moisture that honey attracts
feeds our skin cells and promotes tissue growth. Using it as a
facial mask or a hair conditioner is like providing yourself with a
boost of nutrients that can help restore and heal drying areas. A
little honey every day will make you bloom in no time!

Home remedies to treat acne
We give you home remedies to reduce acne and pimples
Tired of the regular zits that keep popping up every now and then? While if you suffer from an acute acne problem, it's best that you visit a dermatologist, you can bid adieu to a pimple here and there by following these simple home remedies — just make sure you don't suffer from any allergies. Acne usually starts with blackheads, which are formed when oil along with dead cells gets stuck in your pores and turn black. The inflammation when it turns red are the unsightly pimples that all of us dread. While a regular clean-up will reduce your blackheads, here's what you can do to prevent them...
- Take a few pieces of jaiphal (nutmeg), mix it with some unboiled milk and apply the paste on your acne. Wash it off after about two hours.
- Make a mixture of cinnamon powder and honey and apply on your pimples before you go to bed in the night. Wash it with warm water when you wake up in the morning. Do this for a fortnight and watch your pimples disappear.
- Not only are oranges good for overall health, you can use orange peels as a remedy for pimples too. Grind the peels, mix them with a few drops of water and apply it on your face.
- Mix a tablespoon each of fresh lime juice and groundnut oil and apply it on your face to avoid blackheads.
- Leave fresh mint juice on your face overnight to tame pimples.
- Take methi (fenugreek) leaves and make a paste. Apply it every night for 15 minutes and wash it off.
- Take turmeric powder and neem leaves. Apply the mixture on your pimples. Leave it on your face for about half an hour.
- Take equal quantities of rose water and lime juice and apply the mixture on the affected area. Leave it on for 20 minutes.
- Make a face-wash by adding fresh lime juice to a cup of unboiled milk and using it on your face.
- Take some tomato pulp and apply it on your face. Leave it for 45 minutes and wash it off.
- Take a few drops of gulab jal (rose-water) and mix it with sandalwood. Apply the paste on your face and wash it off after 20 minutes.

Top 10 Detox Foods
Top 10 Detox Foods
Lemon
Lemons are a staple of many detox diets, and there is good reason for this. Firstly, lemons are packed with antioxidant vitamin C, which is great for the skin and for fighting disease-forming free-radicals. Furthermore, the citrus fruit has an alkaline effect on the body, meaning that it can help restore the body's pH balance, benefitting the immune system. Try starting your day with hot water and a slice of lemon to help flush out toxins and cleanse your system.
Ginger
If too much fatty food or alcohol has caused problems for your digestive system, it may be worthwhile adding some ginger to your diet. Ginger is not only great for reducing feelings of nausea, but it can help improve digestion, beat bloating and reduce gas. In addition to this, ginger is high in antioxidants and is good for boosting the immune system. To give your digestion a helping hand, try sipping on ginger tea or adding some freshly grated ginger to a fruit or vegetable juice.
Garlic
Garlic has long been known for its heart benefits, however the pungent food is also good at detoxifying the body. Garlic is not only antiviral, antibacterial and antibiotic, but it contains a chemical called allicin which promotes the production of white blood cells and helps fight against toxins. Garlic is best eaten raw, so add some crushed garlic to a salad dressing to boost its flavour and your health at the same time.
Artichoke
If you have recently been overindulging in fatty foods and alcohol, adding some steamed globe artichoke leaves to your meals is a great way to help get your body back on track. Globe artichokes are packed with antioxidants and fibre and can also help the body digest fatty foods. On top of this, globe artichoke is renowned for its ability to stimulate and improve the functions of the liver - the body's main toxin-fighting tool.
Beetroot
For those needing a quick health-boosting shot of nutrients, you can't do much better than beetroot. Packed with magnesium, iron, and vitamin C, the vegetable has recently been hailed as a superfood due to its many reported health benefits. Not only is beetroot great for skin, hair and cholesterol levels, but it can also help support liver detoxification, making it an ultimate detox food. To enjoy its benefits, try adding raw beetroot to salads or sipping on some beetroot juice.
Green tea
While it's not technically a food, no detox plan would be complete without regular consumption of essential liquids. Fluids are essential for keeping our organs healthy and helping to flush toxins from the body, and drinking green tea is a great way of boosting your intake. Green tea is not only a good weight-loss drink, but it is extremely high in antioxidants. Research has also suggested that drinking green tea can protect the liver from diseases including fatty liver disease.
Cabbage
Many celebs have resorted to the cabbage soup diet to help lose weight and get in shape quickly before a big event, however cabbage is not only good for weight loss - it is also an excellent detoxifying food. Like most cruciferous vegetables (including broccoli and sprouts), cabbage contains a chemical called sulforaphane, which helps the body fight against toxins. Cabbage also supplies the body with glutathione; an antioxidant that helps improve the detoxifying function of the liver.
Fresh fruit
Fresh fruits are high in vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and fibre= and are also low in calories, making them an important part of a detox diet. If you're after brighter eyes and skin, shinier hair and improved digestion, try boosting your intake of fruit and eating from a wide variety of different kinds. The good news is fruit is easy to add to your diet, so try starting your day with a fresh fruit salad or smoothie and snacking on pieces of fruit throughout the day.
Brown rice
If you want to cleanse your system and boost your health, it is a good idea to cut down on processed foods. Instead, try supplementing your diet with healthier whole grains such as brown rice, which is rich in many key detoxifying nutrients including B vitamins, magnesium, manganese and phosphorous. Brown rice is also high in fibre, which is good for cleansing the colon, and rich in selenium, which can help to protect the liver as well as improving the complexion.
Watercress
Like most green herbs and vegetables, watercress is an excellent health-booster and detox food. Firstly, watercress leaves are packed with many vital detoxifying nutrients, including several B vitamins, zinc, potassium, vitamin E and vitamin C. Secondly, watercress has natural diuretic properties, which can help to flush toxins out the body. To reap the benefits of this nutritious food, try adding a handful of watercress to salads, soups and sandwiches

Vitamins for Your Skin
Vitamins for Your Skin
Ever heard the saying, beauty comes from within? Apparently, it doesn't only hold true for every Disney flick. See, our skin actually acts as a "mirror" to what's inside our body. That's because, aside from genetics, our skin's appearance depends on the vitamins we take in our bodies.
Whether that be applied topically (in creams and serums) or ingested (fruit smoothie, anyone?), it's this mix of vitamins that keep our skin glowing, healthy, and young-looking. This also means that if you rely on a steady diet of chips and soda, chances are, you're sporting dull skin and lackluster hair.
So whether you're shopping for beauty products or produce, keep an eye out for these key vitamins and minerals that keep your skin looking radiant.
Vitamin A
If you lack this fat-soluble vitamin, your skin will most likely become dull, itchy, and scaly. You'll also probably look a few years older than you should be. That's because Vitamin A helps in cell development, ensuring new skin cells will replace dead ones. It also maintains and repairs skin—and without it, you'll be left with fine lines and wrinkles. In fact, more than 700 studies have proven how this wonder vitamin can slow down the signs of aging.
Find it in: Most anti-aging creams and lotions as "retionoid". You can also get your Vitamin A fix in the form of egg yolks, oysters, and nonfat milk.
Beta Carotene
Can you say "wonder sun shield"? Our bodies convert Beta Carotene into Vitamin A, and studies have shown that 30 mg a day (roughly a cup and a half of cooked carrots) can help reduce redness and inflammation caused by sun damage. This is because beta carotene likes to accumulate in our skin—and, when combined with Vitamin E, can help reduce skin sensitivity to sunlight! A study done by the British Journal of Dermatology has also found that beta carotene can help reduce the risk of psoriasis.
Find it in: Some sunblocks and sunscreen lotions. Get your daily fill in dark-colored produce, like spinach, carrots, broccoli, and sweet potatoes.
Vitamin C
Every day, we're exposed to free radicals, which are by-products of the sun's rays, pollution, and chemicals in the everyday products we use. Free radicals break down collagen (the underlying support structure of our skin) and elastin in our skin, leaving it wrinkled and sagging. Vitamin C helps by fighting off free radicals in our body while triggering more collagen production. It also helps keep our skin cells' DNA intact: since free radicals can damage DNA, Vitamin C, coupled with Vitamin E, helps reduce DNA damage within skin cells.
Find it in: Moisturizers—but make sure they come in opaque, airtight containers, to ensure the stability of its Vitamin C content. Scan the ingredient list and make sure that it contains L-Ascorbic Acid, which is the only kind of Vitamin C that can penetrate the skin. Also try to find products that list Vitamin C in the middle of its ingredients list, because you want to make sure it contains at least 5% of Vit C in order to reap its benefits. You can also get your RDA of Vitamin C in citrus fruits, strawberries, and tomatoes.
Vitamin B Complex
Did you know that biotin, a kind of vitamin B, is a nutrient that helps form our hair, skin, and nails? If your body lacks biotin, your skin reacts by developing dermatitis (itchy, scaly skin), or you may start to experience an increase in hair loss! Another important type of vitamin B is niacin. It helps increase production of ceramides and fatty acids, which strengthen our skin's protective barrier. Having a strong protective barrier is key to getting younger-looking skin, since it keeps irritants like free radicals out, and keeps the good stuff (that would be moisture!) in. In fact, a study presented at the Annual Meeting of American Academy of Dermatology in 2003 found that, when topically applied, niacin dramatically improves aging on human skin.
Find it in: Many topical creams, especially moisturizers. You can also get your Vitamin B in oatmeal, bananas, and rice.
Vitamin K
This vitamin helps control blood clots, which makes it an excellent ingredient in eye creams. That's because under-eye circles are often caused by fragile capillaries around the eyes that "break" and "leak" blood into the skin, giving you that "bruised" color. A study done in 2004 by the Nippon Medical School in Tokyo found that applying a 2% Vitamin K cream can reduce the appearance of under-eye circles. The University of Miami Medical School also found that patients of pulsed dye laser treatments healed faster when given a topical Vitamin K cream to use. Vitamin K might be able to improve skin elasticity, too—doctors in the University of Maastricht, the Netherlands have found that it helps activate a protein which inhibits further wrinkling in people with pseudoxanthoma elasticum, a genetic disease that causes severe wrinkling of the skin and body.
Find it in: Most eye creams. You can also get them in dark green vegetables, such as spinach, broccoli, and brussel sprouts.
Be-Aware of What you EAT...!
Live Life Without Limits! Share this with your love ones.
The top five cancer-causing foods are:
1. Hot dogs
Because they are high in nitrates, the Cancer Prevention Coalition
advises that children eat no more than 12 hot dogs a month. If you
can't live without hot dogs, buy those made without sodium nitrate..
2. Processed meats and bacon
Also high in the same sodium nitrates found in hot dogs, bacon, and other processed meats raise the risk of heart disease. The saturated
fat in bacon also contributes to cancer.
3. Doughnuts
Doughnuts are cancer-causing double trouble. First, they are made with white flour, sugar, and hydrogenated oils, then fried at high temperatures. Doughnuts, says Adams , may be the worst food you can possibly eat to raise your risk of cancer.
4. French fries
Like doughnuts, French fries are made with hydrogenated oils and then fried at high temperatures. They also contain cancer- causing acryl amides which occur during the frying process. They should be called cancer fries, not French fries, said Adams .
5. Chips, crackers, and cookies
All are usually made with white flour and sugar. Even the ones whose labels claim to be free of trans-fats generally contain small amounts of trans-fats.
BRAIN DAMAGING HABITS
1. No Breakfast
People who do not take breakfast are going to have a lower blood sugar level. This leads to an insufficient supply of nutrients to the brain causing brain degeneration.
2. Overeating
It causes hardening of the brain arteries, leading to a decrease in
mental power.
3. Smoking
It causes multiple brain shrinkage and may lead to Alzheimer disease.
4. High Sugar consumption
Too much sugar will interrupt the absorption of proteins and nutrients
causing malnutrition and may interfere with brain development.
5. Air Pollution
The brain is the largest oxygen consumer in our body. Inhaling
polluted air decreases the supply of oxygen to the brain, bringing
about a decrease in brain efficiency.
6. Sleep Deprivation
Sleep allows our brain to rest. Long term deprivation from sleep will
accelerate the death of brain cells.
7. Head covered while sleeping
Sleeping with the head covered increases the concentration of carbon dioxide and decrease concentration of oxygen that may lead to brain damaging effects.
8. Working your brain during illness
Working hard or studying with sickness may lead to a decrease in
effectiveness of the brain as well as damage the brain.
9. Lacking in stimulating thoughts
Thinking is the best way to train our brain, lacking in brain stimulation thoughts may cause brain shrinkage.
10. Talking Rarely
Intellectual conversations will promote the efficiency of the brain
The main causes of liver damage are:
1. Sleeping too late and waking up too late are main cause.
2. Not urinating in the morning.
3. Too much eating.
4. Skipping breakfast.
5. Consuming too much medication.
6. Consuming too much preservatives, additives, food coloring, and
artificial sweetener.
7. Consuming unhealthy cooking oil. As much as possible reduce cooking oil use when frying, which includes even the best cooking oils like olive oil. Do not consume fried foods when you are tired, except if
the body is very fit.
8. Consuming raw (overly done) foods also add to the burden of liver. Veggies should be eaten raw or cooked 3-5 parts. Fried veggies should be finished in one sitting, do not store.
We should prevent this without necessarily spending more. We just have to adopt a good daily lifestyle and eating habits. Maintaining good eating habits and time condition are very important for our bodies to absorb and get rid of unnecessary chemicals according to "schedule."

Benifits of Banana
A very interesting FACTS
Never, put your banana in the refrigerator!!!...
This is interesting. After reading this, you'll never look at a banana in the same way again.
Bananas contain three natural sugars - sucrose, fructose and glucose combined with fiber. A banana gives an instant, sustained and substantial boost of energy.
Research has proven that just two bananas provide enough energy for a strenuous 90-minute workout. No wonder the banana is the number one fruit with the world's leading athletes.
But energy isn't the only way a banana can help us keep fit. It can also help overcome or prevent a substantial number of illnesses and conditions, making it a must to add to our daily diet.
DEPRESSION:
According to a recent survey undertaken by MIND amongst people suffering from depression, many felt much better after eating a banana. This is because bananas contain tryptophan, a type of protein that the body converts into serotonin, known to make you relax, improve your mood and generally make you feel happier.
PMS:
Forget the pills - eat a banana. The vitamin B6 it contains regulates blood glucose levels, which can affect your mood.
ANEMIA:
High in iron, bananas can stimulate the production of hemoglobin in the blood and so helps in cases of anemia.
BLOOD PRESSURE:
This unique tropical fruit is extremely high in potassium yet low in salt, making it perfect to beat blood pressure So much so, the US Food and Drug Administration has just allowed the banana industry to make official claims for the fruit's ability to reduce the risk of blood pressure and stroke.
BRAIN POWER:
200 students at a Twickenham (Middlesex) school ( England ) were helped through their exams this year by eating bananas at breakfast, break, and lunch in a bid to boost their brain power. Research has shown that the potassium-packed fruit can assist learning by making pupils more alert.
CONSTIPATION:
High in fiber, including bananas in the diet can help restore normal bowel action, helping to overcome the problem without resorting to laxatives.
HANGOVERS:
One of the quickest ways of curing a hangover is to make a banana milkshake, sweetened with honey. The banana calms the stomach and, with the help of the honey, builds up depleted blood sugar levels, while the milk soothes and re-hydrates your system.
HEARTBURN:
Bananas have a natural antacid effect in the body, so if you suffer from heartburn, try eating a banana for soothing relief.
MORNING SICKNESS:
Snacking on bananas between meals helps to keep blood sugar levels up and avoid morning sickness.
MOSQUITO BITES:
Before reaching for the insect bite cream, try rubbing the affected area with the inside of a banana skin. Many people find it amazingly successful at reducing swelling and irritation.
NERVES:
Bananas are high in B vitamins that help calm the nervous system..
Overweight and at work? Studies at the Institute of Psychology in Austria found pressure at work leads to gorging on comfort food like chocolate and chips. Looking at 5,000 hospital patients, researchers found the most obese were more likely to be in high-pressure jobs. The report concluded that, to avoid panic-induced food cravings, we need to control our blood sugar levels by snacking on high carbohydrate foods every two hours to keep levels steady.
ULCERS:
The banana is used as the dietary food against intestinal disorders because of its soft texture and smoothness. It is the only raw fruit that can be eaten without distress in over-chronicler cases. It also neutralizes over-acidity and reduces irritation by coating the lining of the stomach.
TEMPERATURE CONTROL:
Many other cultures see bananas as a 'cooling' fruit that can lower both the physical and emotional temperature of expectant mothers. In Thailand , for example, pregnant women eat bananas to ensure their baby is born with a cool temperature.
So, a banana really is a natural remedy for many ills. When you compare it to an apple, it has FOUR TIMES the protein, TWICE the carbohydrate, THREE TIMES the phosphorus, five times the vitamin A and iron, and twice the other vitamins and minerals.. It is also rich in potassium and is one of the best value foods around So maybe its time to change that well-known phrase so that we say, 'A BANANA a day keeps the doctor away!'
PASS IT ON TO YOUR FRIENDS...
PS: Bananas must be the reason monkeys are so happy all the time! I will add one here; want a quick shine on our shoes?? Take the INSIDE of the banana skin, and rub directly on the shoe...polish with dry cloth. Amazing fruit !!!
